چکیده

The presented paper discusses the theory and results of direct experimental investigation of the control of internal electron conversion channel of radioactive isotopes spontaneous decay by controlling action of oriented crystal matrix on motion of conversion electrons. The same effect takes place at any β-processes (including at decay of a neutron with an emission of electrons and neutrino). It was shown that parameters of internal electron conversion decay greatly depend on structure of crystal matrix and on distance from excited nucleus to crystal matrix.

Investigation of strong force influence on behavior of nuclear energy levels in Calcium and Titanium isotopes: Based on quantum chaos theory

The atomic nucleus is a complex many-body system that consists of two types of fermion (neutron and proton). They are in the strong interaction. The statistical properties of energy levels and influence of strong force between these fermions are well described by random matrix theory. Resonance of energy levels depends on the Hamiltonian symmetry placed in one of the GOE, GUE and GSE ensembles ...

Half lives alpha decay is the one of the most important parameters used for describing nuclear structure in nuclear dynamics; over the years, many studies have been done in this area. In this study, by using semi-empirical methods such as Viola-Seaborg (VSS), Royer, Parkhomenko and Sobiczewski (PSM), Brown, New Geiger-Nuttall (NGN), Poenaru et al. (UNIV) and Universal Decay Law (UDL), the half ...

Removal of cesium through adsorption from aqueous solutions: a systematic review

Cesium radioactive isotopes (134Cs and 137Cs) are dangerous to human health due to their long half-life and high solubility in water. Nuclear experiments, wars, and nuclear plant accidents have been the main sources of Cs release into the environment. In recent years, several methods have been introduced for the elimination of Cs radioactive isotopes from contaminated wate...

Using starch powder for the decontamination of I-131 in isolation rooms

Introduction: Various iodine isotopes are undergoing radioactive decay except Iodine-127 (I-127. Iodine I-131 is unsealed radioactive material used in nuclear medicine for both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Royal Hospital since 2006. In radiotoxic classification, I-131 is in group 2 element. I-131 is highly reactive element due to its volatilization nature. Currently...

How Old Is It? How Do We Know? A Review of Dating Methods— Part Two: Radiometric Dating: Mineral, Isochron and Concordia Methods

W ithin a decade of the discovery of radioactivity in 1896, the chemical elements uranium, radium, polonium, and thorium were recognized as radioactive; the basic theory, mechanisms, and mathematics of radioactive decay were established; decay rates of some radioactive chemical elements were determined; and the ages of two mineral specimens were calculated for the first time from their uranium ...
